Located at Idyllic Seven Mile Beach National Park, Surf Camp is right on Australia’s Best learn-to-surf beach. Experience a taste of the Australian surfer’s culture, the laid-back sun soaked days, pristine waters and if you can be tempted out of the water, the ice-cold beer back at the beach-front bungalows. WARNING: you will have to share the beach with local kangaroos, wallabies, kookuburras, dolphins and echidnas! The progressive surf course at surf camp is designed for absolute beginners. 2 x 2-hour lessons each day for 4 days. Learn to paddle, stand up, drop into and ride across the waves. Learn all about how to read the waves as well as surfing etiquette.

Days 1-5
Departs Sydney Mondays at 7:30am. Finishes in Byron Bay every Saturday morning. “The Search” is a 5 Day / 5 Night camp starting in Sydney on Mondays. Spend Monday to Thursday learning the basics and improving your surfing at the Seven Mile Beach surf camp. Thursday night is the overnight, 12 hour coach ride to Byron Bay. On your way up to Byron Bay, take a pit stop at Sydney’s popular surf bar, Scubar, with free beer and pizza. Upon arrival to our Byron Bay accommodation, you’ll receive surf & general info on Byron Bay from our local guides. The accommodation is just a short walk from the main surfing beaches of Byron Bay. Unlimited use of our surfing equipment is supplied in Byron Bay.

Lessons
The progressive surf course at surf camp is designed for absolute beginners. 2 x 2-hour lessons each day for 4 days. Learn to paddle, stand up, drop into and ride across the waves. Learn all about how to read the waves as well as surfing etiquette.

Accommodation
Chill-out in our modern beachside cabins. Your accommodation is only a short walk to the beach and local bar. Other facilities include a swimming pool, hot showers, DVD movies, hammocks, internet, laundry and cafe. Rooms at surf camp are either 4 or 6 berth and upgrades to a private/double room can be requested at the time of booking.

The Food
All meals are included. We know that surfing makes you hungry and we provide plentiful, tasty and healthy meals to meet your appetite. Vegetarian options are also available along with any other special dietary requests.

The Equipment
You will use our warm and comfortable Rip Curl wetsuits and custom designed beginner surfboards. All equipment is current technology and in excellent condition. A full range of wetsuit and surfboard sizes are available.

Transportation
All transportation provided is in our fully air-conditioned coaches.

The Party 
Surfing makes you stoked! and you may feel like celebrating. Our après-surf takes place at sunset down at the beach or in a number of local bars.

Travel Info
  • Passport
    A valid Canadian passport is required for Canadians intending to travel on this itinerary. The passport should be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your expected departure from the country.

  • Health Insurance
    Travel insurance is compulsory for all our trips. We require that, at a minimum, you are covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. We strongly recommend that the policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. When travelling on a group trip, you will not be permitted to join the group until evidence of travel insurance and the insurance company's 24 hour emergency contact number has been provided.
